Canon Character X meets "Original" Character Z. X is immediately impressed, overwhelmed and horny and sets out to win Z's hot bod comic book collection twu wuv. But oh, noes! Unfortunately for X, Z is haunted by a dark past (and a personality disorder) and distrusts all men/woman/were-hamsters. X must show his/her/its sensitive side if he/she/fuzzy little it hopes to win Z over.

Whenever I see any variation of the above summary, I run shrieking into the night. Much like Rodney and citrus, if ingested, it makes me itch, break out in hives, then collapse on the floor, gasping for breath.

Funny you should mention this - my kids in advisory were actually saying the same kinds of thing (without the fanfic jargon) about X-Men 3 today in class . . . and they're mostly preteens!! How sad is that?! Oh, how low the mighty have fallen :(
