Too cute for words. Gakked from ... let me check ...
pandarus.
Things We Have Learned About Pirates
Eeeeeee!
Be sure to check out Jordan, who has learned an interesting new word. Alex 1's tale has a rather zen koan feel, while Amy could almost be channeling Ogden Nash. Becca would get along with Hermione Granger, methinks. I'll bet Jaclyn talks exactly like she writes. Kyle is brief and to the point, as is Nelson (though with completely different takes on the subject). It's hard to tell where Victoria stands on the subject of rum but it's clear that Shawna and Patrick will never party together, alas. Rebecca rocks. Rachel, however, is destined to work for the Canadian equivalent of the NSA, I'm pretty sure. She could tell you what she knows but she'd have to kill you afterward. Sorry.

Date: 2003-08-06 04:03 pm (UTC)I suspect that most of these kids probably play pirates sometimes (surely a lot this Summer because of the movie and all). And when they play pirates how many of them beg to be an officer of the British Navy? That's right--none. Everyone wants to be a pirate. And the British Admiral part is always forced onto your visiting cousin or perhaps the dog.
So clearly, most of these kids are just saying what they want their teachers to hear--except for Jenni who is bravely (or innocently perhaps) admitting that she likes pirates and she doesn't care whether it's appropriate or not.

Date: 2003-08-06 04:10 pm (UTC)And, of course, Jordan and his flogging. Now there's a lad who's always going to remember the very thing you hoped he'd miss, like the curse word that slipped out when you stubbed your toe or the unflattering description you gave of a neighbor when you didn't realize he was listening. And then, BAM! There's Jordan, repeating your words at the worst possible time.
