So I got some feedback -- very, very nice feedback -- on a story I wrote (Tick, a Dead Zone fic), which I've never gotten a single piece of feedback on in the two and a half years since I wrote it, and I was so giddy I totally babbled and fangirled the feedbacker.
Fortunately, she's an excellent writer in a number of fandoms I love so it's not like it was insincere, but lord! It probably came off as the written equivalent of Guy in That Thing You Do going up to his jazz idol Del Paxton and saying, with heart-felt reverence, "You are my biggest fan."
Or possibly Kathy Bates in Misery.

This is what I actually enjoy about posting on the 'net -- there's always a chance to stumble across something that's new to you and always a chance that someone else can stumble across you.
